Music director Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly ‘returned’
the advance amount paid to him to score music for at least six films which are
to release in future. Nephew of Latha Rajinikanth, Anirudh debuted as music
director in Kollywood with last year’s 3 which starred Dhanush and Shruti
Haasan in lead roles and also marked the directorial debut of his cousin
Aishwarya.
The Why This Kolaveri Di song in the film made Anirudh
popular all over the world. Sung and penned by Dhanush, the song became
immensely popular even among non-Tamil speaking communities. Despite his
controversial affair with playback singer-cum-actress Andrea Jeremiah, Anirudh
managed to deliver a hat-trick of (musical) hits in the form of 3, Ethir
Neechal and Vanakkam Chennai.
Slowly yet steadily, Anirudh’s stature in the industry
started moving upward. He now has three big films on his hands in Dhanush’s
home production Velaiyilla Pattathari, Sivakarthikeyan’s Maan Karate and
Vijay’s untitled next film directed by Murugadoss.
Anirudh had also agreed to score music for Balaji Mohan’s
Vaai Moodi Pesava and Malayalam megastar Mammottty’s son Dulqar Salmaan’s debut
film in Tamil.
However, Anirudh has reportedly opted out of both the
above-said films and has also returned the advance amount paid to him by the
producers for scoring the music.
In fact, Anirudh is said to have returned the advance amount
to the respective producers of as many as six films as he wants to concentrate
hard on his pending projects before taking up new assignments.
In an industry where money is the major driving force,
Anirudh’s determination to deliver goods in a ‘good manner’ and not worry about
the money is appreciable indeed!
